About Arp City Council


The Arp City Council is composed of a mayor and two council members, elected for 2-year terms, to represent the citizens of the City of Arp. The powers and duties of the Mayor & City Council are contained in state law and city ordinances, resolutions, and regulations.

The Council fulfills the legislative functions, while working diligently to develop policies and objectives for the effective and efficient delivery of municipal services to the City. They are tasked with the establishing the overall direction of the city, by strategic long-range planning, and setting annual goals and objectives. 


Any citizen can address the Council at any public meeting, however state Open Meetings Laws are very specific that Council or individual members cannot respond or deliberate items not listed on the meeting agenda. To be listed on the agenda, citizens may contact the City Secretary's Office no later than Wednesday Prior to the regular Council meeting.

Agendas are posted on the city website and the front door of City Hall 72 hours prior to the meeting(s). Copies of the agendas are available at the city secretary’s office or on this website.

Regular Meetings
Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at the Arp Fire Station at 6:00 PM.
